AION 2 Can You Change Class
Your class is one of the most important choices you make when creating a character in AION 2. Unlike MMOs that let a single character freely swap jobs, choosing another class here currently means starting another character, which becomes a much bigger decision once you have invested time, gear, upgrades, or limited rewards into your original main.

Can You Change Class in AION 2?
No. You cannot currently change the class of an existing character in AION 2. There is no live class-change menu, class-change ticket, or other item that converts your current character into another class.
Your class remains tied to that character after creation. If you decide that you would rather play a Gladiator, Spiritmaster, Cleric, or any other class instead, you need to create another character rather than converting the one you already have.
How to Change Class in AION 2
The only way to change classes right now is to create a new character and select the class you want during character creation. Your original character remains unchanged, so you can keep it and return to it later rather than deleting it immediately.
This means switching classes is effectively a reroll. Levels, gear, character-specific advancement, and other progress made on your existing character do not simply convert over to the new class.
If you are still deciding what to reroll into, our AION 2 Best Solo Class for PvE and PvP guide compares the launch classes specifically around independence, survivability, damage, and solo PvE and PvP.
What to Do If You Picked the Wrong Class
If you already know that you dislike the fundamental playstyle of your class, rerolling earlier is usually the better choice. A few hours of repeated content is much easier to replace than a heavily developed character with substantial gear and long-term investment.
Do not delete the original character immediately unless you have a specific reason to. Create the replacement first, play it long enough to understand its combat flow, and make sure you actually prefer it before abandoning the first character.
It is also worth separating a class problem from a setup problem. Skill chains, combat settings, ability selection, and simply learning how the class is supposed to fight can make a substantial difference. If the class feels awkward because you have not yet understood its tools, changing characters may only replace one learning curve with another.
If the underlying playstyle itself is what you dislike, however, that is a much stronger reason to reroll. A player who wants durable front-line combat probably will not be satisfied trying to force a fragile ranged class into that role, and someone who dislikes managing melee positioning is unlikely to enjoy investing further into a class built around it.
What Happens to Founder Pack Items and Other Rewards?
Be careful with limited rewards before committing to a class. Creating another character does not mean every item already claimed or opened on your first character will automatically move to the replacement.
Rewards can have different character, server, or account restrictions, so check the item itself before using it. If you are still testing classes, leaving limited-use boxes and other important rewards unopened gives you more flexibility than immediately claiming everything on a character you may stop playing.
Before claiming valuable rewards:
Play the class long enough to understand its combat style.
Decide whether you actually want to main it.
Then open character-sensitive or limited-use rewards.
If you have already opened something valuable on the original character, do not delete that character simply because you are rerolling. Keep it until you know exactly which benefits are shared and which remain attached to that character.
Will AION 2 Add Class Changes Later?
A class-change system is not currently available in the live version of AION 2. There are signs that some form of class-changing functionality may be planned for a future update, but its final rules have not been established.
There is currently no confirmed live method, release date, price, eligibility requirement, or guarantee that every existing character will qualify for a future class change. Until that system is actually introduced, you should make decisions based on the game as it works now rather than assuming you will be able to convert your character later.
If you strongly dislike your current class, waiting indefinitely for a possible class-change ticket is therefore a much bigger gamble than simply rerolling while your investment is still relatively small.
What to Check Before Rerolling Your Class
Before creating the replacement character, make sure you can create it on the server where you actually want to play. AION 2 can temporarily restrict character creation on populated servers, which becomes particularly important if your current character is already playing with friends there.
If the server is locked, our AION 2 Character Creation Restricted Fix guide explains how to tell the difference between an actual server restriction and a character-creation problem on your end.
You should also avoid treating a new class as disposable after only a few minutes. Play through enough combat to see its core mechanics, survivability, movement, and skill chains before claiming important rewards again. That small test period is considerably cheaper than repeatedly rebuilding characters because the first impression was incomplete.
For now, the important rule is simple: AION 2 treats your class as part of the character itself. You cannot directly swap an existing character into another class, so changing classes means creating and developing a different character.
