Graveyard Keeper 2 Mysterious Fish: Uses & Fillets
Mysterious Fish are easy to stockpile in Graveyard Keeper 2 before the game gives you much reason to care about them. Their main value is tied to the Fisherman's questline, which unlocks both the Mysterious Fish Fillet recipe and Fisherman's Pie, so catching them early is much more useful than the cooking menu initially makes it look.

Mysterious Fish Are Mainly for the Fisherman Quest and Fisherman's Pie
Mysterious Fish have two important uses: progressing the Fisherman's questline and turning the catch into Mysterious Fish Fillets for Fisherman's Pie.
If you've already caught several and can't find a useful recipe for them, that's usually because the relevant Cooking technology hasn't been granted yet.

I would hold onto at least five before treating any extras as cooking ingredients. That keeps you from having to return to fishing simply because you processed your quest supply too early.
Save 5 Mysterious Fish Fillets for the Fisherman Quest
The Fisherman's questline includes a step that requires 5 Mysterious Fish Fillets.
That makes five the first number I'd aim for when you start catching Mysterious Fish. Complete the quest requirement before burning through the entire stack on food.
Finishing Fish for the Fisher also grants the Mysterious Fish Dishes technology for free. It costs no Red, Green, or Blue Tech Points.

Once the Mysterious Fish Dishes technology is granted, you can process Mysterious Fish into Mysterious Fish Fillets at the Kitchen Table.
The fillets themselves can look surprisingly limited if you inspect your available recipes immediately afterward. Their main documented cooking use is Fisherman's Pie.
If You Have Fillets but No Recipe
• Make sure Fish for the Fisher is complete
• Check that Mysterious Fish Dishes is unlocked
• Look for Fisherman's Pie at the Kitchen Oven
• The fillet recipe itself is at the Kitchen Table
This is why the item can feel unfinished when you first obtain it. The useful dish is tied to the same quest unlock rather than being part of your normal early Cooking recipes.
Fisherman's Pie Uses 2 Frogs and 2 Mysterious Fish Fillets
Fisherman's Pie is the main repeatable use for leftover Mysterious Fish Fillets once the quest requirement is finished.
The recipe uses 2 Frogs and 2 Mysterious Fish Fillets.

Eating Fisherman's Pie gives 10 Red, 10 Green, and 10 Blue Tech Points.
That gives the fillets a much better long-term use than simply sitting in storage. One dish contributes to all three Tech Point pools at once, which is especially handy when several different technology branches are competing for points.
Catch Frogs in the Swamp Without Bait
If the fish fillets aren't the part holding you back, the other Fisherman's Pie ingredient is Frogs.
Head to the fishing spot in the Swamp and fish without bait to catch them.

Once you know where both ingredients come from, the recipe is fairly easy to repeat whenever you want another mixed Tech Point boost.
You Don't Need the Best Fishing Rod to Catch Mysterious Fish
Mysterious Fish do not require a fully upgraded fishing rod.
Player reports indicate they can be caught with any rod above the Basic Rod, although stronger rods make the catch easier.
The Basic Rod itself is too weak for the fish.

Keep five Mysterious Fish Fillets reserved until the Fisherman no longer needs them. After that, extras are primarily useful as cooking material for Fisherman's Pie.
