Graveyard Keeper 2 Best Food: Top Foods Ranked
The best food in Graveyard Keeper 2 is Berry Pie for most of the game. It restores a strong amount of Energy, slightly reduces Insanity instead of increasing it, and can be produced in large batches from easy-to-maintain ingredients. Baked Apples are my favorite cheaper alternative, while Fisherman's Pie becomes one of the strongest specialty foods once you can reliably make it.

Berry Pie Is the Best Overall Food in Graveyard Keeper 2
Berry Pie is the food I would keep stocked for normal play.
Each pie restores 30 Energy and reduces Insanity by 3. The recipe also produces four pies at once, or six with the Cook perk, so a single craft gives you a substantial amount of usable Energy without requiring rare ingredients.

• Recipe: 4 Dough + 6 Berries + 20 Fuel
• Produces 4 normally
• Produces 6 with Cook
That combination is difficult to beat for everyday work. You get enough Energy to make each use meaningful without wasting a huge refill, and lowering Insanity is a genuine advantage because Insanity reduces your maximum available Energy.
Berry Pie is also much easier to sustain than foods that depend on uncommon fish, high-quality crops, or several late-game ingredients.
If I were choosing one food to keep a large stack of while building, crafting, gathering, and working around the graveyard, this is it.
Baked Apples Are the Best Cheap Food to Mass Produce
Baked Apples are the best alternative if you care more about simplicity than getting the absolute best effect from every inventory slot.
Five Apples and 10 Fuel produce five Baked Apples, with the Cook perk increasing that to seven. Each one restores 21 Energy.

• Produces 7 with Cook
The advantage is how little work goes into them once your Orchard is established. You don't need Dough or another ingredient chain; harvest Apples, put them into the Kitchen Oven, and you're done.
Berry Pie is better food overall, but Baked Apples are arguably easier to keep in absurd quantities.

Fisherman's Pie Is the Best Food When You Also Need Tech Points
Fisherman's Pie isn't what I'd eat every time the Energy bar drops, but it is one of the strongest individual foods once you care about more than Energy.
It restores 80 Energy while also giving 30 Red, 30 Green, and 30 Blue Tech Points.

• Recipe uses 2 Mysterious Fish Fillets and 2 Frogs
That's 90 total Tech Points from a single meal, which makes Fisherman's Pie far more valuable than an ordinary 80-Energy refill.
I would save these until you actually need Tech Points rather than eating them while doing routine chores. Berry Pie or Baked Apples are much easier to replace when Energy is the only thing you're missing.
Berry Pie Still Beats Most Other Everyday Foods
There are plenty of other recipes with respectable Energy values, but many come with worse tradeoffs for normal use.
Baked Meat gives 40 Energy but increases Insanity by 10. A Burger gives 80 Energy but adds 5 Insanity. Sandwiches restore 50 Energy while also adding 5 Insanity.

Those higher-Energy foods can still be useful when your bar is nearly empty, but I wouldn't build my regular food supply around something that steadily raises Insanity when Berry Pie does the opposite.
For most of Graveyard Keeper 2, my recommendation is simple: make Berry Pie your main food, use Baked Apples when you want something extremely cheap to mass produce, and save Fisherman's Pie for moments when its Tech Point reward actually matters.
