Over the Hill Hidden Achievements Guide
Over the Hill has six hidden achievements, and most are tied to deliberately putting your vehicle into situations you would normally try to avoid. A few unlock naturally while exploring, but Held by a Thread and Law of the Land have much more specific requirements that are worth setting up intentionally.

All Hidden Achievements in Over the Hill
There are six hidden achievements in Over the Hill: Under the Water, Professional Driver, Taking Flight, Under the Stars, Held by a Thread, and Law of the Land.
Under the Water: Completely fill the water resistance bar until the vehicle shuts down.
Professional Driver: Flip your vehicle.
Taking Flight: Make a jump with your vehicle.
Under the Stars: Set up a campsite for the first time.
Held by a Thread: Hang completely in the air from your winch for 10 seconds.
Law of the Land: Equip a blue livery together with Red & Blue Beacons or the Red & Blue Beacon Bar.
If you are completing the full list rather than only the hidden objectives, our Over the Hill Achievements Guide covers the rest of the game's achievements as well.
How to Get Under the Water
Under the Water unlocks when you completely fill your vehicle's water resistance bar and allow the vehicle to shut down.
This means simply driving through a shallow stream is not enough. You need to put enough of the vehicle underwater for long enough that the water resistance meter reaches its limit.
Look for a sufficiently deep body of water, drive in gradually, and stay submerged instead of immediately reversing when the meter starts climbing. The achievement should trigger once the vehicle actually shuts down from water exposure.
If you are using a vehicle with upgraded Water Resistance, expect this to take longer because the entire requirement is based on exhausting that protection rather than merely touching water.
How to Get Professional Driver
Professional Driver is one of the simplest hidden achievements: flip your vehicle.
You will probably unlock this naturally while attempting difficult climbs, descending steep terrain, or choosing an overly ambitious line across a slope. If you want it immediately, deliberately approach uneven terrain where one side of the vehicle can climb higher than the other until the vehicle rolls over.
You do not need to recover cleanly afterward for the achievement itself. Once the vehicle has flipped, the requirement has been met.
Having a winch or jack available is still useful so an intentional achievement attempt does not leave you stranded afterward.
How to Get Taking Flight
Taking Flight requires you to make a jump with your vehicle.
You do not need an elaborate stunt setup. Find terrain that gives you a natural ramp or a sudden drop, build enough speed to leave the ground, and get the vehicle airborne.
A downhill approach is usually easier than trying to force a jump while climbing because gravity helps maintain speed before the wheels leave the terrain.
This is another achievement that can unlock naturally during normal exploration, particularly if you drive aggressively instead of carefully crawling every obstacle.
How to Get Under the Stars
Under the Stars unlocks the first time you set up a campsite.
Once you have access to the camping tool, deploy a campsite in a valid location. There is no additional distance, time, or survival requirement attached to the achievement; the first successful campsite setup is the trigger.
If you have been carrying camping equipment without using it because cabins handle most of your recovery and travel needs, this hidden achievement gives you a reason to deploy it at least once.
How to Get Held by a Thread
Held by a Thread is the most setup-heavy hidden achievement. Your entire vehicle must hang in the air from the winch for 10 consecutive seconds.
The important part is the phrase completely in the air. Hanging over an edge while one or two wheels still touch the ground does not satisfy the requirement.
The easiest setup is to use a steep drop with a suitable winch attachment point above or across from you. Attach the winch before fully committing to the edge, then slowly move until the vehicle passes beyond the ledge and its weight is being held entirely by the cable.
Once every wheel has lost contact with the terrain, stop making unnecessary inputs and remain suspended for at least 10 seconds.
The achievement needs all three conditions at once:
The winch must be attached.
The entire vehicle must be off the ground.
You must remain suspended for 10 seconds.
A strong attachment point matters more here than vehicle speed. Approach the edge slowly so you can control when the chassis becomes fully suspended instead of launching off and placing a sudden load on the recovery setup.
If winching and recovery are still giving you trouble in regular play, our Over the Hill Tips and Tricks Guide covers the broader recovery tools and driving systems.
How to Get Law of the Land
Law of the Land is a customization achievement rather than a driving challenge.
Equip any blue livery on your vehicle, then equip either the Red & Blue Beacons or the Red & Blue Beacon Bar at the same time.
Livery: Any blue livery
Accessory: Red & Blue Beacons or Red & Blue Beacon Bar
The important part is having both requirements equipped simultaneously. A blue vehicle by itself is not enough, and having the beacon accessory equipped with a different livery does not meet the achievement condition.
If the achievement has not appeared, return to vehicle customization and verify that the livery itself is one of the blue options rather than relying on another cosmetic piece to make the vehicle look blue.
Fastest Order to Unlock All 6 Hidden Achievements
You can make the hidden list much quicker by separating the achievements that require specific equipment from those you can trigger almost anywhere.
Start with Professional Driver and Taking Flight while exploring, since both only require suitable terrain. Deploy your campsite afterward for Under the Stars.
Under the Water can be handled the next time you reach deep water, although you should make sure you have a practical recovery plan before deliberately shutting the vehicle down.
Save Held by a Thread until you find a cliff or drop with a reliable winch attachment point. It is much easier to create the required 10-second suspension deliberately than to hope it happens during an ordinary recovery.
Law of the Land can be completed independently once you have the necessary customization options, so there is no reason to combine it with a particular map or driving objective.
That leaves the six hidden achievements split into three simple groups: driving mistakes for Professional Driver and Taking Flight, utility interactions for Under the Stars and Under the Water, and deliberate setups for Held by a Thread and Law of the Land. Once you know the actual conditions, none require guessing at hidden progression requirements.
