Star Wars Galactic Racer All Pod Racers & How to Unlock Them
Podracing has its own separate roster in Star Wars: Galactic Racer, bringing back six recognizable pilots from The Phantom Menace rather than using the standard Galactic League characters. Each pilot also comes with two fixed traits, so choosing a Podracer changes more than who you see behind the controls.

All Podracers in Star Wars Galactic Racer
There are six playable Podracing pilots in Star Wars: Galactic Racer: Dud Bolt, Gasgano, Teemto Pagalies, Sebulba, Ben Quadinaros, and Ody Mandrell.
Unlike the 13 characters used in standard multiplayer races, the Podracing roster is not gradually unlocked one character at a time. Once you unlock multiplayer Podracing, all six become available together.
Dud Bolt: Stronger on straights
Gasgano: Afterburner-focused
Teemto Pagalies: Better cornering
Sebulba: Best suited to collisions and aggressive racing
Ben Quadinaros: Strong cornering with higher collision risk
Ody Mandrell: Higher maximum speed with weaker cornering
Every pilot has a benefit and a drawback built into their Podracer. There is no single character that simply receives better stats in every category, so track layout and driving style matter when deciding who to use.
How to Unlock Podracers
In multiplayer, Podracing unlocks once you reach Multiplayer Level 5. At that point, all six Podracing characters become available automatically.
You do not need to reach six different levels or individually unlock Sebulba, Gasgano, or any of the other pilots.
Multiplayer Requirement: Reach Level 5
Podracing Pilots: 6
Individual Character Unlocks: None
Unlocked Together: Yes
This is different from standard multiplayer, where characters such as Katja Mox, Griff Halloran, and Kestar Bool are spread across Multiplayer Rank milestones.
The Campaign handles Podracing differently. You initially race the regular Landspeeders, Speeder Bikes, and Skim Speeders before Sebulba becomes involved in the story. Podracing begins appearing through his storyline after the opening Act and becomes more fully integrated later in the Campaign.
Dud Bolt
Dud Bolt is built around carrying more speed on straights at the expense of cornering performance.
Optimized Nozzles: Increases Afterburner power and maximum speed while driving on straights.
Drag Control Surfaces: Maximum speed is reduced while cornering.
Dud Bolt makes the most sense on tracks with long sections where you can properly exploit the straight-line bonus. His downside becomes much more noticeable on technical circuits where you are constantly changing direction.
The important part is getting the Podracer straightened out quickly after each corner. The sooner the game considers you back on a straight, the sooner you can start exploiting his speed advantage again.
Gasgano
Gasgano is the most obvious choice for players who like relying heavily on the Afterburner.
Energy Surplus: Increases Afterburner power and fuel recharge speed.
Large Cross Section: Increased vehicle drag reduces maximum speed.
The tradeoff is clear: Gasgano gets more value out of repeated Afterburner use but sacrifices some raw maximum speed.
That makes him less about reaching the highest possible speed once and more about repeatedly having acceleration available throughout a race. Tracks that constantly force you to slow down and regain speed can make that especially useful.
Teemto Pagalies
Teemto Pagalies trades outright top speed for a combination of Afterburner power and improved cornering.
Cutting-Edge Technology: Increases Afterburner power and improves handling while cornering.
Small Thrusters: Reduces maximum speed.
Teemto is a strong option if you would rather consistently make difficult corners than chase maximum speed down every straight.
That can also make him one of the more forgiving Podracers while learning technical tracks. Losing a little potential top speed is often preferable to repeatedly hitting a wall and losing far more time recovering.
If cornering is still your biggest problem, our Star Wars Galactic Racer how to drift guide covers braking, racing lines, and keeping speed through tighter turns.
Sebulba
Sebulba is the Podracer for players who consider the other racers part of the track.
Built for Battle: Vehicle collisions deal less damage to Sebulba and more damage to the racer he hits.
Old Dog, Old Tricks: Afterburner fuel recharges more slowly.
His traits encourage contact instead of clean racing. You can be more willing to fight for a line, shove another racer aside, or survive situations that would be more punishing with a fragile Podracer.
The price is weaker Afterburner recovery, so Sebulba is not the best option if your normal strategy revolves around constantly emptying and refilling your boost.
He is instead one of the more distinctive choices in the roster because his advantage directly changes how willing you can be to make contact with other racers.
Ben Quadinaros
Ben Quadinaros emphasizes clean cornering but punishes collisions more severely.
Dual Control Surfaces: Reduces vehicle drag and improves cornering performance.
Complex Connections: Vehicle collisions deal increased damage to Ben.
That makes Ben almost the opposite of Sebulba.
If you can consistently hit your racing line and avoid the pack, his improved cornering can help you carry speed through technical sections. If you are constantly trading hits with other Podracers, his downside becomes much harder to ignore.
Ben therefore rewards precision more than aggression. He becomes more appealing as you learn a circuit and stop depending on last-second corrections or contact to make a corner.
Ody Mandrell
Ody Mandrell is built around outright speed.
High-Powered Engines: Increases maximum speed.
Full Impulse: Reduces handling while cornering.
Ody is one of the easiest Podracers to understand. You get more maximum speed, but controlling that speed becomes harder once the track starts turning.
On a track where you already know the braking points and can consistently get through the technical sections, that trade can be extremely valuable. On an unfamiliar circuit filled with tight corners, the extra top speed can instead make mistakes more punishing.
Which Podracer Should You Use?
The best Podracer depends more on what you are trying to accomplish than on a universal ranking.
For straight-line speed: Ody Mandrell
For long straights and Afterburner: Dud Bolt
For repeated Afterburner use: Gasgano
For easier technical cornering: Teemto Pagalies
For clean, precise racing: Ben Quadinaros
For aggressive contact: Sebulba
For a player still learning Podracing, Teemto is a sensible starting point because better cornering directly helps with one of the hardest parts of controlling these faster vehicles.
Ody and Dud Bolt become more attractive once you know a track well enough to safely carry additional speed, while Ben rewards clean lines and Sebulba lets you lean into Galactic Racer's more aggressive side.
Gasgano sits somewhere between those extremes. His stronger, faster-recharging Afterburner is useful throughout a race without forcing you as heavily toward either contact or precision driving.
Can You Play as Anakin Skywalker?
No. Anakin Skywalker is not one of the six playable Podracing characters in Star Wars: Galactic Racer at launch.
Despite the game bringing back multiple racers from the Boonta Eve Classic, the playable roster is limited to Dud Bolt, Gasgano, Teemto Pagalies, Sebulba, Ben Quadinaros, and Ody Mandrell.
That also means there is no hidden Multiplayer Rank requirement you need to reach to unlock Anakin. He simply is not part of the launch Podracing roster.
If you are working through everything else Galactic Racer has to offer, our Star Wars Galactic Racer achievements guide covers all 49 achievements, including the Galactic Gauntlet and 50 Arcade Gold time requirements.
The key difference with Podracing is that you do not need to grind each pilot separately. Get multiplayer to Level 5 and all six pilots become available, then choose based on the tradeoff that best fits the track and how you prefer to race.
