Star Wars Galactic Racer Best Upgrades

Star Wars: Galactic Racer gives you several ways to improve your vehicle, but not every upgrade is equally valuable early in a run. For most players, the best approach is to improve control first, then build into sustained speed once you can reliably keep the vehicle on the racing line.

Best Upgrades in Star Wars Galactic Racer

For most players, we recommend prioritizing upgrades in this order: Cornering, Battery, Ramjet, Afterburner, then Resilience.

1. Cornering: Best overall upgrade
2. Battery: Best once you have useful abilities
3. Ramjet: Best sustained speed upgrade
4. Afterburner: Best for acceleration and recovery
5. Resilience: Useful, but usually lowest priority

The reason Cornering comes first is simple: more speed does not help much if you are constantly hitting walls, missing shortcuts, or braking too heavily to survive tight turns. Once the vehicle feels controllable, speed-focused upgrades become much more valuable.

Cornering Is the Best Upgrade First

Cornering is our top upgrade because Galactic Racer has a lot of technical sections where carrying speed through a turn matters more than having the highest possible top speed.

Better Cornering helps you stay on cleaner lines, use Drift more aggressively, and lose less speed through tight sections. It also makes later Ramjet and Afterburner upgrades easier to control.

If you are regularly sliding wide or clipping walls, put your next upgrade into Cornering before adding more speed.

Our Star Wars Galactic Racer how to drift guide also covers how to combine braking and acceleration through tighter corners.

Battery Is the Best Utility Upgrade

Battery becomes extremely valuable once your vehicle has several useful abilities equipped.

More Battery means more opportunities to use speed, defensive, cooling, or status-clearing abilities throughout a race instead of running dry before the final lap.

We would not necessarily dump everything into Battery immediately, but once you have abilities you are actually relying on, it becomes one of the strongest upgrades available.

Ramjet Is the Best Speed Upgrade

Ramjet is our preferred speed-focused upgrade once your handling is under control.

It gives you access to sustained high speed rather than only a short burst, which makes it particularly strong on longer straights and sections where you can maintain momentum.

The downside is heat. More Ramjet performance only helps if you can manage the Redline without overheating and destroying the vehicle.

If you are already comfortable with the tracks and rarely crash through corners, moving Ramjet ahead of Battery is completely reasonable.

Afterburner Is Best for Acceleration

Afterburner is especially useful when you need to quickly regain speed after a corner, collision, hazard, or other slowdown.

That makes it strong on tracks where your speed constantly rises and falls rather than staying near maximum for long stretches.

We still place it behind Ramjet overall because Ramjet has the greater impact on sustained race pace, but Afterburner can be more useful on tighter or more chaotic tracks.

Resilience Is Usually the Lowest Priority

Resilience helps you survive damage and mistakes, but we generally prefer upgrades that prevent you from getting into trouble in the first place.

If you are consistently making corners and avoiding collisions, Resilience provides less value than adding more speed or improving your ability usage.

It becomes more worthwhile in multiplayer, on hazard-heavy tracks, or if you are regularly losing runs because your vehicle cannot survive enough crashes.

Struggling with turns: Upgrade Cornering.
Running out of ability power: Upgrade Battery.
Need more sustained speed: Upgrade Ramjet.
Need better acceleration: Upgrade Afterburner.
Dying too often: Upgrade Resilience.

The best upgrade path is therefore less about blindly maximizing speed and more about fixing your biggest weakness first. For most players, that means starting with Cornering, adding Battery or Ramjet next, then filling out Afterburner and Resilience once the vehicle already feels fast and controllable.
