Star Wars Galactic Racer Overcharged Guide
Overcharged is a temporary power state in Star Wars Galactic Racer that gives you Energy while reducing Ability reload times, allowing a loadout to cycle its Abilities much faster than normal. Several Abilities and Parts interact with the effect, but its timer can make the related 40-second achievement more awkward than simply activating Overcharged Autopilot twice.

What Overcharged Does in Star Wars Galactic Racer
Overcharged gives your vehicle temporary Energy and reduces Ability reload times for as long as the effect remains active. The real value is therefore not simply having another status icon active; it creates a short window where you can use your Abilities much more aggressively than under normal Energy and cooldown limits.
That makes Overcharged particularly useful in loadouts built around chaining several Abilities together. Trigger the state, spend the extra Energy while your reloads are accelerated, and try to get as much value from the window as possible before it ends.
Overcharged is also separate from Surge. Both can affect how aggressively you race, but they are different systems with their own triggers and interactions. Our Star Wars Galactic Racer Surge guide covers that mechanic separately.
How to Get Overcharged
There are multiple ways to trigger Overcharged. Charging Blast can grant the effect during a Crash, while Overcharged Autopilot and Overcharged Autopilot II apply it while the Autopilot takes control of your vehicle.
Overcharged Autopilot lasts for 20 seconds, which makes it look like the obvious solution for any objective asking you to remain Overcharged for an extended period. In practice, however, maintaining one uninterrupted timer with repeated Autopilot activations can be unreliable.
The status also interacts with a substantial group of vehicle Parts, including Charging Coils, Overcharged Injector, Overcharged Supercharger, Overcharged Systems, Power Cascade, Thermal Inverter, and other components built around triggering, extending, or benefiting from the state.
One status you specifically want to avoid is Disrupted. Disrupted prevents Overcharged from being active, so getting hit with it can immediately interfere with a setup that depends on maintaining the effect.
How to Stay Overcharged for 40 Seconds
The easiest way to complete the objective for staying Overcharged for 40 seconds is to use the second Scenario rather than trying to force the requirement through a normal Campaign Tour build.
During the first race of that Scenario, you can gain Overcharged through the race's own setup and maintain it much more easily than with repeated Overcharged Autopilot activations. Players struggling with the achievement through normal loadouts have been able to trigger it almost immediately using this method.
A simple approach during that first race is to repeatedly activate and stop the Ramjet as needed while maintaining the Overcharged state. You do not need to spend multiple Campaign races hoping the right combination of Abilities and Parts appears when the Scenario already gives you a much easier environment for maintaining the effect.
If you are specifically working through the achievement list, our Star Wars Galactic Racer Achievements Guide covers the rest of the requirements as well.
Why Overcharged Autopilot Can Fail the 40-Second Requirement
Overcharged Autopilot grants the status for 20 seconds, so activating it twice sounds like it should be enough to reach 40 seconds. The problem is that extending or reactivating the effect does not appear to behave like one simple continuous timer for the achievement.
Players have reported spending much longer than 40 seconds with Autopilot active across a race without receiving the achievement. One likely explanation is that refreshing or extending Overcharged can reset the internal duration being tracked rather than adding cleanly onto the previous activation.
That is why the Scenario method is preferable. Instead of trying to perfectly overlap two 20-second Autopilot windows and hoping the timer carries across them correctly, you can use a race where Overcharged is supplied through a different mechanic and maintain it continuously.
If you are using Overcharged Autopilot for normal racing rather than the achievement, this timer behavior matters much less. The Ability still gives you its 20-second Overcharged window and lets the Autopilot handle the vehicle while the effect is active.
Building Around Overcharged
Overcharged works best when your loadout is actually capable of exploiting the shorter Ability reloads. A setup with several Abilities that you can afford to use repeatedly will gain more from the effect than one where the reduced reload time does not translate into additional activations.
There are numerous Parts designed around the state, so Overcharged can become a central build mechanic rather than something you trigger occasionally. Parts such as Charging Coils, Overcharged Injector, Overcharged Supercharger, Overcharged Systems, Power Cascade, and Overcharging Afterburner all belong to that broader ecosystem.
The important distinction is between creating Overcharged and taking advantage of it. An Ability can give you the status, while the rest of the vehicle determines how much you actually gain during that window. If you are comparing Parts for a broader setup, our Star Wars Galactic Racer Best Upgrades guide covers the wider upgrade choices.
For the 40-second achievement, though, there is little reason to build an entire vehicle around extending Overcharged. The second Scenario provides a much more controlled way to satisfy the requirement, while an Overcharged-focused loadout makes more sense when you actually want the faster Ability cycling during normal races.
