WARDOGS Best Controller Settings Guide
WARDOGS can feel surprisingly twitchy on controller, and simply raising sensitivity until turning feels fast makes the more important problem worse: accurately correcting your aim at the longer distances where a lot of fights happen. I prefer a precision-first setup that keeps ADS noticeably slower than hipfire, minimizes unnecessary right-stick deadzone, and still gives you enough turning speed when you push the stick farther.

Best WARDOGS Controller Settings to Start With
For a controller setup built around controllable ADS aim rather than extremely fast hipfire, I recommend using these WARDOGS settings as your starting point:

I would not treat every number here as something that has to remain permanently locked. Controller hardware, especially stick drift, can change what works for you. The important part is the relationship between the settings: comparatively quick horizontal movement, slower vertical movement, substantially reduced ADS speed, and a very small right-stick deadzone for precise corrections.
Use Lower ADS Sensitivity Than Hipfire in WARDOGS
The biggest controller change I would make is separating how quickly you want to look around from how quickly you want to aim.
Start with 2.3 Horizontal Sensitivity, 1.6 Vertical Sensitivity, and a 0.35 ADS Multiplier. That deliberately makes aiming down sights much slower than normal camera movement.
WARDOGS gives you plenty of engagements where the target is small enough that tiny corrections matter more than being able to snap 180 degrees instantly. A high ADS sensitivity can feel responsive at first, but it also makes it easier to repeatedly move your reticle past a distant player while trying to make a small correction.
I also like horizontal sensitivity being higher than vertical sensitivity here. You generally need substantially more horizontal movement for checking angles, tracking someone moving across your screen, and quickly changing direction. Vertical movement is more often being used for recoil correction and smaller elevation adjustments.
This does not mean 2.3/1.6 is the only viable setup. Some controller players are using considerably faster settings; one community configuration, for example, uses 5.3 Horizontal, 4.9 Vertical, and a 0.68 ADS Multiplier. That can work if you already prefer fast controller aim, but I would not start there if your main complaint is that WARDOGS feels too touchy.
My preference for most players would be to begin with the slower setup, then raise Horizontal Sensitivity gradually if turning feels restrictive. Do not immediately increase ADS at the same time. Hipfire turning speed and ADS precision are two different problems.
Use Acceleration to Keep Small Movements Controllable
Look acceleration is where WARDOGS controller tuning gets a little less straightforward.
The goal I want is simple: the beginning of a stick movement should remain controllable for small adjustments, while pushing farther toward the outside of the stick should let the camera move much faster. That gives you precision without making every large turn painfully slow.
A Linear Look Acceleration Curve with the 4.7 multiplier, 1.0 threshold, and 1.0 pitch weight is one workable starting configuration for that style of aim. Keep the Gamepad Response Curve on Standard alongside it.
There is no reason to pretend this is the only good acceleration setup, though. Another community controller configuration takes almost the opposite approach, using a Standard acceleration curve, 1.3 acceleration multiplier, 0.80 threshold, 0.20 pitch weight, and Dynamic response curve.
That tells me something more useful than simply declaring one player's numbers perfect: acceleration is one of the settings you should change after getting your base sensitivity and ADS under control.
If your small movements feel good but turning is too slow, acceleration is where I would experiment before massively increasing your base sensitivity. If everything feels unpredictable at every point in the stick, simplify the acceleration behavior first and then retest your sensitivity.
Keep Your Right Stick Deadzone as Low as Your Controller Allows
Deadzone tuning is arguably more important than copying somebody else's exact sensitivity.
For the right stick, start with Custom deadzones and try 3% Center, 1% Axial, and 0% Max Input. Another working community setup goes even lower at 2% Center and 2% Axial with the same 0% Max Input.
I would use that as a practical range rather than assuming everyone needs exactly the same number. Drop the Center Deadzone until the camera begins moving without you intentionally touching the stick, then raise it just enough to remove that drift.
If your controller can sit perfectly still at 2%, there is little reason for me to force it to 5% or 10%. If an older controller drifts badly at 3%, meanwhile, increasing the deadzone is better than spending the entire match fighting unwanted camera movement.
The left stick can tolerate a much larger center deadzone because tiny aiming corrections are not coming from it. A 13% Center, 3% Axial, and 5% Max Input setup is a safe starting point, although players with tighter sticks have reported using considerably lower movement deadzones as well.
This is why I would tune the two sticks separately. The left stick needs reliable movement without drift. The right stick needs the smallest controllable movement you can reasonably get because that directly affects your ability to make fine aim corrections.
Use Low Trigger Deadzones for Faster ADS and Firing
I would also keep the trigger deadzones very low.
A good starting configuration is 0% minimum and 5% maximum for both triggers. This gives them much more of a hair-trigger feel rather than requiring a long pull before WARDOGS recognizes the input.
That makes considerably more sense to me in a shooter than preserving a large analog trigger range. When I pull the fire trigger, I want the game to register the shot quickly; there is not much competitive benefit in making the controller wait for an unnecessarily deep trigger press.
If your specific controller produces accidental trigger inputs with those settings, increase them slightly. As with stick deadzones, the lowest possible number is only useful when the hardware behaves properly at that number.
Don't Judge WARDOGS Aim Assist Only in the Shooting Range
WARDOGS does have some controller aim assistance, but there is an important wrinkle when you are testing these settings.
Controller testing from the pre-Early Access build found little to no noticeable aim assist in the shooting range, while some aim assistance could be felt during actual matches. That means the shooting range is useful for checking sensitivity, deadzones, recoil control, and whether your sticks drift, but it may not perfectly represent how aiming feels against actual players.
I would therefore use the range for the mechanical part of your setup and then play real matches before deciding your ADS speed is wrong.
Recoil itself generally is not extreme enough that I would build the entire controller setup around fighting it. The bigger concern is maintaining enough right-stick control to pull down while still keeping shots on a distant target.
That is another reason I prefer the lower 0.35 ADS multiplier as the starting point. WARDOGS already puts controller players against the precision of mouse aiming, so sacrificing fine control for maximum stick speed is a trade I would avoid unless you know you perform better that way.
WARDOGS Controller Support Still Has Limitations
One limitation to keep in mind is that the controller-settings information available around WARDOGS comes from its Beta and Early Access period, where gamepad support has still been developing.
In the late Beta build, players could not freely change the Infantry, Ground Vehicle, and Air Vehicle controller schemes from the normal gamepad menu. Community players have also complained about the inability to properly customize native controller bindings, including awkward defaults such as melee and spotting assignments.
There have even been reports of external controller remapping causing another input, such as leaning, to stop behaving correctly. I would therefore prioritize the native sensitivity, response, acceleration, and deadzone options before trying to rebuild the entire control scheme externally.
More controller options may change during Early Access, so if an option described here is newly available in your build, use the current in-game menu rather than assuming the limitations from the Beta are permanent.
Change One Controller Setting at a Time
The easiest way to ruin a controller setup is to change sensitivity, response curve, acceleration, and deadzone at the same time and then have no idea which change made it feel better or worse.
I would start with the complete baseline above. First, tune the right-stick Center Deadzone around your actual controller. Then decide whether 2.3 Horizontal gives you enough turning speed. After that, adjust the 0.35 ADS Multiplier if aiming feels excessively slow or fast. Leave response curve and acceleration until those basics feel predictable.
If hipfire feels slow but ADS feels accurate, raise Horizontal Sensitivity rather than ADS. If hipfire feels good but you constantly overshoot distant targets, lower the ADS Multiplier. If tiny stick movements do nothing and then suddenly jump, investigate your right-stick deadzone and response behavior. If precise movements feel good but large turns take forever, acceleration is the setting I would look at next.
That troubleshooting order is much more useful than endlessly copying sensitivity numbers because each setting is solving a different problem.

For controller specifically, though, I would start at 2.3 Horizontal, 1.6 Vertical, 0.35 ADS, keep the right-stick deadzone around 2-3% if your controller allows it, and tune from there. The goal is not to make WARDOGS controller aim as fast as possible; it is to retain fast movement without giving up the small corrections you need to actually hit someone at range.
