If you are seeing it while large numbers of other players are also stuck at login, the best move is to wait for WARDOGS' online services to recover and then attempt to connect again.
In other words, I would not start reinstalling the game, resetting Windows, changing DNS servers, or messing with firewall rules just because 1147405308 appeared during a widespread authentication incident.

That makes the timing of your error extremely important. If thousands of people are failing to authenticate at the same time, there is very little reason to assume thousands of PCs all developed the same local problem simultaneously.

Error Code 1147405308 appears with the message “Failed to Authenticate With Online Services.” You may also see Access Denied displayed with the error.
The useful part of that wording is “authenticate.” This is happening at the stage where WARDOGS is trying to establish your access to its online services, rather than after you have successfully joined a battlefield and begun playing.

For 1147405308, I would focus on the authentication stage first. The fact that the error contains a huge intimidating number does not automatically mean your installation is corrupted.
Figure Out if Error 1147405308 Is Widespread Before Troubleshooting
The fastest way to approach 1147405308 is to figure out whether you actually have an individual problem.
If WARDOGS has a massive login queue, players are simultaneously reporting authentication failures, and official community updates are discussing login capacity, stop there. You have enough evidence to wait before changing anything locally.
If your friends cannot authenticate either, that is another strong reason to suspect the wider service rather than your PC.
The situation changes if other players are getting into WARDOGS normally and you continue receiving 1147405308 long after the broader authentication problems have ended. At that point, I would start treating your particular session as something worth troubleshooting.
This distinction saves a lot of wasted effort. There is no benefit to applying seven different Windows “fixes” while WARDOGS itself is struggling to process logins, because you will have no idea whether any of those changes actually did anything once the servers recover.
Do Not Keep Restarting WARDOGS if the Login Queue Is Working

BULKHEAD has acknowledged that some players have been sent back to the end of the queue while the game's launch traffic is being handled. Players have also reported extremely large queue positions during the launch rush.
Because of that, I would not close WARDOGS every few minutes simply because the queue is taking a long time. A slow queue and Error 1147405308 are not exactly the same thing.
If your position continues moving, I would generally leave it alone. If you reach the authentication stage and receive 1147405308, then you have actually encountered the failure this guide is addressing.
Repeatedly restarting while you are still successfully progressing through the queue could just sacrifice your position without changing anything about the authentication service behind it.
If Everyone Else Can Log In, Start With Your WARDOGS Session
There may eventually be situations where 1147405308 appears without a widespread WARDOGS outage. The same authentication stage can potentially fail for more than one reason, so I would change my approach once the wider service is clearly operating normally.
First, completely close WARDOGS and Steam. Do not simply close the main Steam window while leaving the client running in the system tray. Reopen Steam, make sure you are signed into the correct account, check that WARDOGS does not have an update waiting, and then launch the game again.
This is a basic session refresh rather than a confirmed code-specific repair, but it is far less disruptive than reinstalling the entire game and makes sense when your failed authentication appears isolated.

Verify the Game Files Before Reinstalling
If the error has become isolated to you and continues after a full Steam restart, checking the installation is another reasonable late-stage step.
Open WARDOGS in your Steam library, open Properties, select Installed Files, and run Steam's file verification. Let Steam finish checking the installation before launching the game again.

I would not reinstall WARDOGS for Error 1147405308 unless you have already established that the error is isolated to your PC and the simpler checks have failed.
For the current launch-related authentication problems, reinstalling is especially unlikely to be a productive use of your time. You could delete and redownload the entire game only to arrive back at the exact same authentication service that was preventing you from logging in before.
My troubleshooting order is much simpler: check whether everyone is affected, stay in a functioning queue, wait if WARDOGS is experiencing widespread authentication problems, restart WARDOGS and Steam once the issue appears isolated, check for updates, test another connection if necessary, and verify your files before ever considering a reinstall.
The order matters because every step should tell you something. Randomly changing settings until the error disappears does not tell you whether you fixed anything or the WARDOGS authentication service simply came back online.
What to Do Once You Finally Get Into WARDOGS
If 1147405308 disappears and you successfully authenticate, there is normally no reason to continue applying fixes. Get into the game and leave the working configuration alone.
