How Assists Work in Marvel Rivals
In Marvel Rivals, assists are usually earned when you help a teammate get a kill without directly dealing damage to the enemy (although sometimes the system is a bit wonky). Actions like healing, shielding, or using crowd control abilities (like stuns or slows) that help your teammate secure the kill shortly before it happens will generally count as an assist.
How to Earn Assists
Support Your Teammates:
Heal or shield teammates during a fight.
Use stuns, slows, or other abilities that weaken or disable the enemy.
Avoid Dealing Damage:
Damage done to the enemy counts toward your kill tally, not an assist.
If you focus on helping your teammate directly without attacking the enemy yourself you should get an assist.
Be Active in Team Fights:
Stay near teammates and use supportive abilities during battles.
Why Should You Want Assists?
Team Contribution: Assists show how much you help your team without needing to secure kills, which is really helpful for healers so who don’t generally go for the kills themselves (busy saving their teammate’s lives and the such… Absolute Chads).
Better Stats: They still improve your Kill/Death/Assist (K/D/A) ratio.
With all of this said… Please help your enemies win and don’t worry about whether or not you get a kill or assist!
