AION 2 How to Get Clash Runes
Clash Runes occupy the two Rune slots near the bottom of your equipment screen in AION 2. Your first ones come from specific Regional Quests, but those quests are limited, so getting additional copies later requires moving into Nightmare content.

How to Get Clash Runes in AION 2
You get your first Clash Runes by completing Regional Quests in Verteron as an Elyos or Altgard as an Asmodian. Look specifically for Regional Quests that list a Clash Rune Chest among their rewards.
Open the chest after completing the quest to receive a Clash Rune along with materials associated with the Rune enhancement system.

You have two Clash Rune equipment slots, so the immediate goal is to obtain at least two Runes rather than stopping after the first quest reward. Filling both slots contributes additional stats and Item Level, making Clash Runes another useful piece of the setup covered in our AION 2 Combat Power guide.
Elyos Clash Rune Regional Quests
Elyos characters can get Clash Rune Chests from Regional Quests around Verteron. You do not need to clear every Regional Quest in the zone, so target the quests below if the Rune is what you are after.

Cursed Blue Mineral is the earliest listed Elyos option at Level 30, so you can begin filling the Rune slots well before reaching the later Level 45 Regional Quests.

Asmodians can therefore get two early Clash Rune Chests particularly quickly: The Future Within the Past becomes relevant around Level 30, followed by Hugo Mercenaries An Old Promise around Level 32.
How to Farm More Clash Runes
Regional Quest rewards are finite. Once you need additional Clash Runes, the repeatable route is Nightmare content.
Nightmare rewards Phantasmal Fragments, which can be spent in the Nightmare Trade Shop on Clash Rune Chests. This becomes the important source once you are no longer relying on one-time Regional Quest rewards.
1. Unlock Nightmare content.
2. Run Nightmare and collect Phantasmal Fragments.
3. Open the Nightmare Trade Shop.
4. Purchase Clash Rune Chests with your Fragments.
5. Repeat Nightmare when you need additional Runes.
This is what turns Clash Runes from a limited Regional Quest reward into something you can continue working on later. Extra copies become particularly important if you start pushing Rune enhancement, since failed enhancement attempts can destroy the Rune.
Fastest Way to Get Two Clash Runes
If you only want to fill both Clash Rune slots as quickly as possible, do not wait until endgame or start farming every Regional Quest on the map.
Instead, complete the earliest two Clash Rune quests available to your faction.
Elyos:
1. Cursed Blue Mineral at Level 30
2. Zuminon's Call Part Two at Level 37
Asmodian:
1. The Future Within the Past at Level 30
2. Hugo Mercenaries An Old Promise at Level 32
Equip one Rune in each of the two available slots, then use the remaining Regional Quest chests and eventually Nightmare farming for extra copies. Clash Runes provide PvE Damage Boost, PvE Damage Tolerance, Penetration, Combat Speed, and Multi-Hit Chance, so leaving either Rune slot empty means giving up several additional combat stats.
So the short version is: get your first two Clash Runes from your faction's Regional Quests, complete the remaining Rune quests for additional copies, and then transition to Nightmare and the Phantasmal Fragment Trade Shop when you need a renewable source.
