AION 2 How to Get Kina
Kina comes from several normal activities in AION 2, including quests, Duties, Expeditions, monster drops, and exploration rewards. The important part is that AION 2 has both regular Kina and Kina (Bound), so where you get the currency determines what you can actually use it for.

How to Get Kina in AION 2
You get Kina in AION 2 from quests, Duty Quests, Expeditions, monster drops, Hidden Cubes, and selling tradable items on the Market.
The biggest thing to check is whether the reward is regular Kina or Kina (Bound). Quests and many progression activities primarily give Bound Kina, while sources such as monster drops and Market sales can give regular Kina.
Quests: Mainly Kina (Bound)
Duty Quests: Kina (Bound)
Expeditions: Kina through activity rewards and Odyle Energy Cubes
Monster Drops: Regular Kina
Hidden Cubes: Can reward Lucky Kina Chests
Market Sales: Regular Kina, Membership required
If you only need Kina for character upgrades and normal NPC expenses, the Bound Kina you earn through regular play is useful. If you specifically need Kina for the player Market, you need regular Kina instead.
Every Main Way to Get Kina
The following are the main sources you will encounter while playing AION 2:
Story and Regional Quests: Direct Bound Kina rewards
Duty Missions and Duty Commands: Bound Kina and other rewards
Expeditions: Kina can appear in the rewards, including Odyle Energy Cubes
Regular Monsters: Can directly drop regular Kina
Hidden Cubes: Can contain Lucky Kina Chests
Market: Sell tradable gear and materials for regular Kina if you have Membership
There is no need to follow a dedicated farming route just to begin earning Kina. Most characters naturally build up Bound Kina while questing, then start seeing additional regular Kina sources as more systems open up.
Get Kina From Quests and Duties
Quests are one of the most common ways to receive Kina while moving through AION 2.
Main quests, Regional Quests, Duty rewards, Sealed Dungeons, Strongholds, and other progression content can reward Kina (Bound). Duty Missions are found in the Duty section of the Journal, while Duty Commands begin from Command Scrolls purchased from merchants in areas such as Verteron and Altgard.
This is the Kina you are most likely to accumulate without deliberately trying to make money.
Get Kina From Expeditions
Expeditions can also give Kina alongside their normal equipment and material rewards.
After defeating the final boss of an Expedition, you can spend Odyle Energy to open an Odyle Energy Cube. Kina can be included among the rewards from these cubes.
This makes Expeditions useful because you can receive currency at the same time as gear and other upgrade materials rather than running separate content just for Kina.
Get Regular Kina From Monsters
Regular enemies can directly drop Kina when you defeat them.
This matters because monster drops are one of the ways to obtain regular Kina rather than only the Bound version awarded by many quests.
There is a daily acquisition limit on Kina earned from monsters, so enemy drops are not an unlimited source. You will still collect plenty naturally while completing quests, gathering materials, hunting Pet Souls, or clearing other open-world objectives.
Get Kina From Hidden Cubes
Hidden Cubes found around the world can contain Lucky Kina Chests.
You need a Key Hidden Cube to open them, and the cubes are often placed away from the most direct quest routes. If you already have a key and encounter one while exploring, it is another easy opportunity to pick up Kina alongside its other rewards.
Get Regular Kina by Selling Items on the Market
Players with an active Membership can earn regular Kina by selling tradable items on the Market.
Equipment, crafting materials, and other tradable drops can be listed for other players to buy. When the item sells, you receive regular Kina rather than Kina (Bound).
Need Kina for the Market?
Quest rewards will not necessarily solve the problem because most quest currency is Kina (Bound). Regular Kina from sources such as monster drops and Market sales is what you need for player-economy transactions.
Market access requires Membership, so players without it will mainly get Kina through quests, enemies, Expeditions, Duties, and other normal gameplay.
Regular Kina vs Kina Bound
Regular Kina and Kina (Bound) look similar but have different restrictions.
Kina (Bound) is primarily intended for your own character expenses and cannot be used for player Market transactions. Regular Kina is the flexible version used in AION 2's player economy.
Kina Bound: Mainly earned from quests, Duties, dungeons, and progression activities
Regular Kina: Earned from sources such as monster drops and Market sales
Use Bound Kina For: Normal character expenses and upgrades
Use Regular Kina For: Market and other player-economy systems
This is also why your displayed currency can seem higher than the amount available when you try to use the Market. Having a large amount of Kina (Bound) does not mean all of it is available for trading.
Kina is also required by several equipment systems as you move deeper into the game. For example, Clash Rune enhancement uses Kina alongside its own materials, and our AION 2 how to get Clash Runes guide covers where to get your first Runes and additional copies.
If spending Kina on upgrades is your goal, our AION 2 Combat Power guide also covers the larger equipment systems that contribute to your character's strength.
So for the exact question of how to get Kina: complete quests and Duties for Bound Kina, collect Kina from Expeditions and monsters, open Hidden Cubes when you find them, and use the Market for regular Kina if you have Membership access.
