Hellraiser Revival Lockpick Locations

Lockpicks are worth keeping in your inventory throughout Hellraiser: Revival, especially when exploring areas with locked cabinets containing extra supplies. You can find several early in the campaign, but there are also ways to replenish your supply without relying on random loot. Here's where to get your first Lockpicks and which method is worth using later.

Where to Find Lockpicks in Hellraiser Revival

You can find two guaranteed Lockpicks early in Hellraiser: Revival during the Escape the Cult objective. Both are located around the artist's studio and nearby freight elevator, allowing you to collect them before spending any coins at a merchant.

Lockpick #1 – Artist's Studio
After passing through door M359 and crawling beneath the room where cultists are holding a prisoner, enter the nearby studio through the barred metal door. Look for an easel with paint cans nearby. The Lockpick is resting on its tray.

Lockpick #2 – Freight Elevator
Leave the studio and follow the hallway to the right. Continue past the gurney and the opening with a ladder until you reach the freight elevator. Call the elevator using the wall button and search the black duffel bag inside for another Lockpick and some coins.

I would grab both Lockpicks before opening the locked metal cabinet in the studio. That cabinet contains coins and herbs, but you can return to it after collecting the second tool. Having a spare means one failed attempt won't leave you unable to open it.

Additional Lockpicks can appear among supplies in containers throughout the campaign. Check bags, drawers, and optional rooms while exploring, but don't rely on finding a replacement immediately after breaking one.

How to Get More Lockpicks

Once you encounter Zora, you can purchase Lockpicks directly or unlock the ability to craft them. Both methods use coins initially, but they work differently when it comes to maintaining your supply.

Buy a Lockpick: 80 Coins
Buy the Lockpick Recipe: 120 Coins

Materials to Craft 1 Lockpick:
3 Scraps
3 Coils

Purchase the Lockpick recipe from Zora's first shop for 120 Coins. Once unlocked, the recipe lets you craft replacements through the crafting menu whenever you have enough Scraps and Coils.

The recipe is also useful for achievement completion. Collecting it counts toward Librarian, while crafting your first Lockpick contributes toward Artificer. Both are covered in our Hellraiser Revival achievements guide.

Should You Buy or Craft Lockpicks?

Crafting is generally the better long-term option, but purchasing individual Lockpicks can be more economical if you only need one additional tool. The decision depends on how many replacements you expect to use and whether you have spare crafting materials.

For comparison, buying two Lockpicks costs 160 Coins. Purchasing the recipe costs 120 Coins, meaning you'll save 40 Coins by crafting two instead, assuming you already have the necessary materials.

Only need one Lockpick?
Buying one for 80 Coins costs less upfront than unlocking the recipe.

Expect to need several replacements?
Buy the recipe and use spare materials to craft more.

Already have a working Lockpick?
Keep using it rather than spending coins or materials unnecessarily.

There is one important tradeoff: Scraps and Coils are also useful crafting resources. Making Lockpicks repeatedly can leave you short on materials for other equipment, so I wouldn't craft a large reserve unless you regularly break them.

For players collecting every recipe, purchasing the blueprint is worthwhile regardless of whether you intend to craft many Lockpicks.

How to Make Lockpicks Last Longer

One Lockpick can open multiple containers, so successful attempts don't necessarily reduce your supply. The tool breaks when you repeatedly force a lock while the pin is positioned incorrectly.

That makes preserving your first two Lockpicks more valuable than repeatedly buying replacements. A working Lockpick can potentially open several cabinets without costing another coin.

If you're breaking them frequently, our Hellraiser Revival lockpicking guide explains how to identify the correct angle by watching the lock's resistance.

Also remember that not every locked container requires a Lockpick. Numerical keypads need codes, while certain doors require special keys. Save your tools for containers that actually use the lockpicking minigame.

For most of the campaign, I would keep one working Lockpick available and replace it only when necessary. Between the early free pickups and the crafting recipe, you shouldn't need to spend much money on individual tools if you're careful when opening containers.
