Hood Warfare 2 How to Join Friends

Hood Warfare 2 lets you play with friends through password-only private matches. The host creates a private room and shares its password with the group. The game’s update announcement confirms the feature, but does not document the exact menu buttons or a separate Steam invite process.

Join your friends through a password-only private match

To play together, one person needs to host a private match and share the room password. The other players use that password to join the same room. Private password-only matches were added in Hood Warfare 2 patch 1.0.1.4.

The available announcement confirms private rooms, but it does not show the lobby screen or specify the current button names. Look for the private or password-protected room option in the game’s multiplayer setup, then have your friends join using the password the host provides.

Host and guest checklist

For the host

Update Hood Warfare 2, create a private password-only room using the options available in the game, and send the password directly to your friends. Once they are in the lobby, choose a mode and map together.

For friends joining

Update the game, open the multiplayer options, and join the host’s private room with the password they shared. If the game does not show the room or rejects the password, check that everyone is running the same current version before trying again.

The patch announcement does not confirm a separate Steam friends invite button. Use the private-room password as the supported way to coordinate access rather than relying on an invite flow that has not been documented.

If you cannot join your friend

Start with the two checks most likely to block a private match: make sure everyone has updated to version 1.0.1.4 or later, and confirm the host shared the correct password. The update included fixes for various joining errors, so an outdated game may cause problems even when the room details are right.

If Steam has not downloaded the update, fully exit Steam and reopen it, then check Hood Warfare 2’s version again. If all players are updated and the password is correct, have the host create a fresh private room and share its new password.

If the problem continues, note the error message and whether it happens only with the private room or with other online matches too. That helps distinguish a room or password issue from a broader connection problem.

Hood Warfare 2 has in-game voice chat

Voice chat was added in patch 1.0.10. Push to talk is enabled by default and bound to T. You can switch to open mic in the settings, and the game supports both lobby-wide and team-only chat. It does not have proximity chat.

Friends cannot be confirmed for bot matches

Hood Warfare 2’s Steam description says bots can fill teams, but lists bot matches as single-player. It does not confirm that friends can join a match against bots. Use a password-only private room for a confirmed way to play online together.
