What Class Should You Play in AION 2?

If you already know what role you enjoy in MMOs, your choice can be fairly simple. Templar is the dedicated tank, Cleric is the main healer, Chanter is the hybrid support option, Gladiator is the durable melee bruiser, Ranger is physical ranged DPS, Assassin is the more demanding melee DPS, Sorcerer is the direct offensive caster, and Spiritmaster is the summon-focused caster.

The important part is choosing the kind of combat you want rather than chasing whichever class happens to rank highest right now. A strong class is not going to feel like the right main if you dislike its core role.

Tank: Templar
Durable Melee: Gladiator
Physical Ranged DPS: Ranger
Execution-Focused Melee: Assassin
Magic DPS: Sorcerer
Summoner: Spiritmaster
Dedicated Healer: Cleric
Hybrid Support: Chanter

Which AION 2 Class Fits Your Playstyle?

Gladiator is the melee choice for players who want damage without feeling fragile. Its durability gives you more room to stay in the fight, and it can offer some frontline flexibility without committing you to being the group's dedicated tank.

Templar is the better pick if tanking itself sounds fun. You are choosing it to control enemies, survive pressure, and take responsibility for the front of the group rather than simply because you want a durable melee character.

Ranger is the straightforward physical ranged option. It fits players who want mobility, distance, and damage without taking on healing, tanking, or summon management.

Assassin is a better match if you specifically enjoy fast melee combat and higher execution demands. It asks more from positioning and mechanical play, making it less forgiving but more appealing if mastering the class is part of the fun.

Sorcerer fills the traditional offensive caster role. Pick it if you want ranged magic focused primarily on your own spell damage rather than summons or party support.

Spiritmaster is the class to look at if summons are part of the appeal. Its minion-focused combat and control tools give it a different identity from Sorcerer's more direct spellcasting.

Cleric is the clearest choice if you genuinely want to heal. It takes on the dedicated healer role in groups but still has enough offense and sustain to function when playing alone.

Chanter is better for players who like support but do not want to be a pure healer. It mixes buffs, sustain, support, and active combat, making it one of the more flexible choices in the roster.

What If You Still Cannot Decide What Class to Pick?

If the quiz gives you two close matches, try both before investing heavily into either one. A result like Gladiator and Templar usually means you like durable frontline combat but still need to decide whether you actually want tank responsibility. Cleric and Chanter creates a similar decision between dedicated healing and hybrid support, while Sorcerer and Spiritmaster largely comes down to whether you want summons involved in your combat loop.

If playing alone is the main thing separating your final choices, our AION 2 best solo class guide looks specifically at that side of the roster.

It is also worth testing your shortlist before committing because you cannot freely turn an existing character into another class later. Our AION 2 class change guide covers how that restriction works.
