AION 2 Chanter Build Guide: PvE, PvP, & Leveling (Global)

Chanter is AION 2's hybrid support, combining Staff damage with Mantras, healing, cleansing, shields, mobility, and enough personal damage that you should rarely be standing around waiting for someone to lose health. The class works best when you treat support and damage as the same rotation: keep the party's important buffs running, attack whenever the group is stable, then interrupt your damage immediately when healing or protection will prevent a real problem.

Best Chanter Build in AION 2

The best Chanter build changes depending on how much support your group actually needs. For leveling and solo play, lean heavily into Dark Crush, Spinning Strike, Onslaught, and offensive Mantras. In a normal PvE group with a Cleric, keep your strongest party buffs running while contributing damage and using Recuperation as backup healing. PvP places much more value on control, personal survival, shields, and being close enough to your group for your support tools to matter.

Leveling Stigmas: Undefeated Mantra, Power of the Storm, Sprint Mantra, Marchutan's Wrath
PvE with Cleric: Undefeated Mantra, Power of the Storm, Marchutan's Wrath, Focused Defense
Defensive PvE: Undefeated Mantra, Power of the Storm, Healing Touch, Impeding Authority or another protection Stigma
Arena PvP: Undefeated Mantra, Marchutan's Wrath, Fracturing Blow, Focused Defense
Group PvP: Undefeated Mantra, Sprint Mantra, Impeding Authority, Barrier Spell
Weapon: Staff and Guard

The one Stigma I would build around regardless of your eventual setup is Undefeated Mantra. From there, the fourth-slot decisions should solve an actual problem rather than copying the same loadout into every activity.

If you want the dedicated-healer version of this role, our AION 2 Cleric Build Guide covers Cleric's healing-focused setup. Chanter is better viewed as a support DPS that can heal, not as a replacement Cleric that happens to carry a Staff.

How the Chanter Build Works

Chanter is easiest to understand if you watch two things at the same time: your party's condition and your Dark Crush windows.

When the party is healthy, your job is to attack. Skills including Spinning Strike and Impactful Crush create short opportunities to follow with Dark Crush. Developing Dark Crush removes its cooldown, but that does not mean you can freely press it forever; you still need one of those activation windows.

When the party is taking meaningful damage, your priority changes. Recuperation gives you healing and cleansing, while Stigmas such as Impeding Authority, Healing Touch, or Barrier Spell can be swapped in when the group needs more protection than another damage skill.

Chanter Priority
Keep your selected Mantras active.
Attack while the group is stable.
Create Dark Crush windows with your normal rotation.
Use Recuperation when healing or cleansing is actually needed.
Shield before predictable heavy damage.
Return to damage as soon as the party is safe.

Your Mantras should also stay manual. They are toggles, so repeatedly including them in a macro can turn a buff off instead of helping you maintain it.

Best AION 2 Chanter Leveling Build

Chanter leveling should favor damage much more heavily than a dungeon-support setup. You already bring self-healing, defensive passives, and respectable durability, so turning every slot into additional recovery only makes normal enemies take longer to kill.

Dark Crush, Spinning Strike, Onslaught, and Impactful Crush form the core. Rushing Smash is also useful while questing because closing the gap quickly reduces the amount of dead time between targets.

Onslaught is particularly useful because it supports your MP while contributing sustained damage. With the appropriate specialization, it also reduces Spinning Strike's cooldown, which gives you more opportunities to reopen Dark Crush.

Onslaught
Impactful Crush
Recuperation
Rushing Smash

For Stigmas, Undefeated Mantra gives you the strongest general foundation. Power of the Storm improves your offensive window, Sprint Mantra makes moving through the world faster, and Marchutan's Wrath gives you another way to open Dark Crush.

If your gear is weak enough that survival is slowing you down, replace the least valuable offensive Stigma with Healing Touch or another defensive option. Once you stop needing it, put the damage option back in.

Best AION 2 Chanter PvE Build

In a standard dungeon group with a Cleric, I would build Chanter as support DPS rather than a second dedicated healer. Undefeated Mantra and Power of the Storm provide the party value, while Marchutan's Wrath and Focused Defense let you maintain your own damage and survivability.

Undefeated Mantra should remain your first major Stigma investment. Power of the Storm is strongest when used during a real group damage window rather than immediately on cooldown when half the party is moving or handling mechanics.

Marchutan's Wrath is useful because it creates another Dark Crush opportunity. That gives the Stigma value beyond its own damage and lets you keep one of your strongest attacks moving even when Spinning Strike or Impactful Crush is unavailable.

Best PvE Stigmas With a Cleric
Undefeated Mantra
Power of the Storm
Marchutan's Wrath
Focused Defense

Do not treat this as a locked four-skill loadout. Chanter is one of the classes where swapping a single Stigma can make more sense than changing the entire build.

If the group does not have a Cleric, Sprint Mantra and Healing Touch gain much more value. If a boss has a significant Stagger check, an appropriate Stagger Stigma can replace a damage option. If a predictable attack is killing the party, Impeding Authority can be more valuable than squeezing another personal damage skill into the bar.

There is also an important interaction when you are grouped with a Cleric: Undefeated Mantra's Damage Boost does not stack with Light of Protection. Coordinate which character is supplying the stronger effect instead of assuming more buffs automatically means more damage.

Best AION 2 Chanter PvP Build

There are really two Chanter PvP builds: an Arena pressure setup and a group-support setup for larger fights.

In Arena, Undefeated Mantra remains valuable, while Marchutan's Wrath, Fracturing Blow, and Focused Defense give you pressure, another Dark Crush opportunity, Defense reduction, and a defensive answer when the opponent finally commits.

Best Arena PvP Stigmas
Undefeated Mantra
Marchutan's Wrath
Fracturing Blow
Focused Defense

Group PvP is different. Your personal burst becomes less important than keeping yourself and nearby teammates functional through the enemy's engage. Undefeated Mantra and Sprint Mantra provide persistent party value, while Impeding Authority and Barrier Spell give the build answers to concentrated incoming damage.

Best Group PvP Stigmas
Undefeated Mantra
Sprint Mantra
Impeding Authority
Barrier Spell

Barrier Spell should be treated as an emergency defensive window rather than permission to ignore whatever the enemy is doing. Powerful attacks can have their own exceptions, and using the Stigma at the wrong time simply leaves you without it for the burst that actually mattered.

Defiance should also stay manual. Use it when crowd control would prevent you from supporting the team, then reposition toward your allies instead of immediately chasing whoever controlled you.

Best Chanter Skills and Upgrade Priority

Dark Crush is the skill I would build around first because reaching its important specialization breakpoints changes the entire damage loop. Spinning Strike and Impactful Crush then become more valuable because they are not just damage skills; they create opportunities to use Dark Crush.

Onslaught is your sustained filler and MP tool. Recuperation should also stay developed even in an offensive setup because Chanter's ability to stop attacking for a moment and solve a healing or cleansing problem is part of why the class gets brought to groups.

Leveling: Dark Crush → Spinning Strike → Onslaught → Impactful Crush → Recuperation
PvE: Dark Crush → Onslaught → Spinning Strike → Recuperation → Impactful Crush
PvP: Recuperation → Defiance → Impactful Crush → Dark Crush → Spinning Strike

For passives, Wind's Promise and Attack Preparation are strong offensive investments. Blessing of Life deserves more attention than it may initially appear to because it connects HP and healing to the rest of your build, while Protection Circle gains defensive value from continuing to attack.

This is another reason a support Chanter should not stand around idle. Parts of your protection package become better when you are actively participating in combat.

Best Chanter Skill Specializations

The best Chanter specializations are the ones that increase how often you can enter another useful Dark Crush window while preserving enough healing to cover mistakes or mechanics.

Onslaught PvE: Multi-Hit, Spinning Strike cooldown reduction, Storm Chain

Dark Crush PvE: guaranteed Critical Hit, remove cooldown, Piercing Strike

Dark Crush PvP: guaranteed Critical Hit, remove cooldown, HP absorption

Spinning Strike PvE: reduced cooldown, stronger single-target damage, Block and Evasion bypass with Critical Hit

Spinning Strike PvP: reduced cooldown, Seal chance, Block and Evasion bypass with Critical Hit

Impactful Crush PvE: AoE damage, mobile casting, Skill Speed

Impactful Crush PvP: AoE damage, longer Stun, increased Stun chance

Recuperation: additional use and Heal over Time, remove up to two debuffs, reduced cooldown

Defiance PvP: HP recovery, longer Tenacity, Damage Tolerance during Tenacity

Dark Crush's cooldown-removal specialization does not remove the need to trigger the skill. Spinning Strike and Impactful Crush create short follow-up windows, so pay attention to those windows instead of simply mashing Dark Crush whenever it appears unavailable.

Best Stats for Chanter in AION 2

Chanter's stat priorities depend heavily on whether your build is expected to deal damage, provide extra healing, or survive player focus.

For solo leveling, get enough Accuracy for reliable hits and then build Attack, Combat Speed, Damage Boost, Critical Damage, and other offensive stats. Combat Speed is particularly useful because it improves the pace of a class that spends so much time weaving attacks between support decisions.

In PvE support DPS, Attack remains extremely useful because it improves your personal damage while also interacting with Blessing of Life's healing scaling. That allows Chanter to gain support value without gearing like a character that never attacks.

PvP needs HP, PvP Damage Tolerance, PvP Accuracy, and Status Effect Resist before you start chasing maximum burst.

Leveling: Accuracy as needed → Attack → Combat Speed → Damage Boost → Critical Damage
PvE Support DPS: Accuracy → Attack → Combat Speed → Weapon Damage / Damage Boost → Critical Damage → survivability as needed
Defensive PvE: Attack / healing effectiveness → HP → Damage Tolerance → Cooldown Reduction → Combat Speed
PvP: HP → PvP Damage Tolerance → PvP Accuracy → Status Effect Resist → Combat Speed → offensive stats

Be careful about overinvesting in Critical Hit solely because Chanter is an offensive support. Developed Dark Crush and Spinning Strike can already guarantee Critical Hits through their specializations, so Crit primarily improves the rest of the kit rather than every important attack equally.

Our AION 2 How to Increase Combat Power guide covers why choosing the right stats and skill bonuses matters more than simply equipping whichever item shows the largest CP increase.

AION 2 Chanter PvE Rotation

Chanter does not need a huge fixed rotation. Your damage is better viewed as a series of short Dark Crush windows with Onslaught filling the space between them.

Turn on the Mantras you actually need before combat. During a boss damage window, activate Power of the Storm manually instead of burying it inside an automatic sequence.

Spinning Strike creates one Dark Crush opportunity, while Impactful Crush gives you another. Use the follow-up quickly because those windows are short.

Enable your selected Mantras before the pull.
Use Power of the Storm during a real party damage window.
Spinning Strike → Dark Crush.
Impactful Crush → Dark Crush when available.
Use Marchutan's Wrath for another Dark Crush window.
Fill downtime with Onslaught.
Use Rushing Smash when you need to reconnect with the target.
Interrupt the rotation for Recuperation whenever healing or cleansing matters.

Do not use Spinning Strike, Impactful Crush, and every other Dark Crush opener at the same moment just because they are available. If the first one already gave you the window you needed, another opener can often be saved to create the next window.

The other mistake is refusing to stop attacking. A Chanter that finishes one extra combo while an ally dies has misunderstood the class. Use Recuperation, shields, and protection when needed, then immediately return to the offensive loop once the danger has passed.

AION 2 Chanter PvP Combo and Priorities

Chanter PvP is built around repeated favorable exchanges rather than one enormous burst combo. You have enough healing, control, movement, and defense to stay involved for a long time, so there is rarely a reason to spend everything during your first engage.

Use Rushing Smash when it is safe to establish contact. Impactful Crush can then pressure or interrupt the opponent while opening Dark Crush. Continue attacking with Onslaught and Spinning Strike, but pay attention to what the enemy is saving in response.

Enable the appropriate Mantra before engaging.
Rushing Smash to establish contact when safe.
Impactful Crush → Dark Crush.
Use Fracturing Blow during your pressure window.
Continue with Spinning Strike and Onslaught.
Use Recuperation when recovery or cleansing creates real value.
Save Focused Defense for meaningful incoming burst.
Keep Defiance for dangerous crowd control.

In group PvP, do not chase one low-health target so far that your Mantras, healing, and shields stop reaching your team. Your personal kill is usually worth less than keeping several allies inside the support package they brought you for.

Best Chanter Gear, Arcana and Daevanion

Chanter's Staff and Guard should support whichever side of the hybrid role currently limits you. Solo and support-DPS setups want Accuracy, Attack, Combat Speed, Weapon Damage Boost, Damage Boost, and useful Multi-Hit or secondary offensive stats. Defensive setups can trade part of that package for HP, Damage Tolerance, and cooldown-related bonuses.

Skill levels are especially valuable when they push Dark Crush, Spinning Strike, Onslaught, Recuperation, or another core ability through an important specialization breakpoint.

For Arcana, Combat Speed and Cooldown Reduction are strong general directions because both improve how often Chanter can cycle back into useful attacks and support abilities. Offensive players can put more weight into Attack and additional damage effects, while defensive players should prioritize cards that improve Recuperation, Blessing of Life, Protection Circle, and their actual protection package.

Daevanion should initially follow the same philosophy. Take useful skill levels first, then prioritize Combat Speed and Cooldown Reduction, followed by the offensive or defensive stat routes that match your primary content.

Multi-Hit becomes increasingly relevant to Chanter's offensive setup later, so avoid judging the class entirely by the obvious Attack and Critical Hit numbers shown on the character sheet.

Leveling: Run an offensive setup, use your built-in recovery to avoid downtime, and only add more defense when survival actually slows you down.

PvE: Keep the party buffs active, create repeated Dark Crush windows, and interrupt your damage only when healing or protection is genuinely needed.

PvP: Stay connected to your group, trade repeatedly instead of blowing every cooldown at once, and save your strongest defensive tools for the enemy's real burst.
