Graveyard Keeper 2 Victory Banner: How to Get & Use It
Victory Banners are tied directly to Graveyard Keeper 2's military campaign, appearing only after certain successful battles rather than through crafting, trading, or exploration. Their purpose is just as specific: they let you expand the Barracks building area so you have more room for defenses as later fights demand larger military setups.

Get Victory Banners by Winning Specific Military Battles
Victory Banners are awarded for winning certain battles during Herbert's military campaign. You cannot craft them, buy them from a trader, or farm them from ordinary enemies.
If you have zero Victory Banners, the answer is usually to keep advancing Herbert's battle questline rather than search for a recipe or merchant. The first Banner rewards start appearing once the campaign moves beyond its earlier fights.
Victory Banner Basics

I would treat Victory Banners as military upgrade tokens rather than ordinary inventory materials. You earn them by pushing farther into the campaign, then spend them back at the Barracks to improve how much defensive space you have available.
Later Campaign Battles Award Victory Banners
Several confirmed battles award one Victory Banner when you win them.
These include later fights in the southern and central branches as well as the push toward the Royal Foundry.

The exact battle names you see depend on where you are in Herbert's questline, but the important pattern is that Victory Banners show up deeper into the military campaign rather than during the first few encounters.
Early wins are more likely to hand out Defender's Emblems, Zombie Goo, Town Gratitude, and similar rewards before Victory Banners start entering the mix.
Victory Banners Expand the Military Building Area at the Barracks
Victory Banners are used at the Barracks to expand your military building area.
This gives you more usable space for defensive structures such as Barricades and Towers, which becomes increasingly useful as later fights ask for higher military strength and larger setups.
Victory Banner Use
• Go to the Barracks
• Open the military building interface
• Find Expand Military Building Area
• Spend the required Victory Banner
• Use the extra space for more defenses
If you already have a Victory Banner sitting in your inventory but can't find anything to craft with it, that's why. It isn't a normal workstation ingredient; its main use is tied to the Barracks building screen.
Expanding the Barracks Matters More in Later Battles
The early fights can be handled with a fairly small military setup. Later battles start asking for much higher military strength and give you access to more squads, Barricades, and Towers.
At that point, available building space becomes part of the limitation.
A larger military area lets you prepare more defenses and gives you more freedom when trying to reach the strength requirement for the next fight.
I wouldn't sit on Victory Banners expecting some secret late-game recipe. Their value comes from expanding the military infrastructure that helps you handle tougher battles.
Why Expansion Matters

• Better preparation makes the later campaign easier to manage

Victory Banners and Defender's Emblems Do Different Things
Victory Banners are not the same resource as Defender's Emblems, even though both come from military victories.
Victory Banners expand the military building area. Defender's Emblems are used elsewhere at the Barracks, including increasing the number of squad slots you can use.
Battle Reward Difference
• Victory Banner: Expands military building space
• Defender's Emblem: Helps unlock additional squad capacity
• Both come from specific battle victories
• Neither is a normal crafting material
That distinction becomes more important once battles allow two or three squads. More squad capacity and more room for defenses solve different parts of the same military-strength problem.
Victory Banner Is Not the Same Item as Victory Flag
There is also a separate item named Victory Flag in Graveyard Keeper 2's data, but it should not be confused with the usable Victory Banner.
Victory Flag currently has no obtainable source or known use in the live game version covered here. Victory Banner is the actual campaign reward used for military-area expansion.
Use the Name Carefully

• Victory Flag: Separate unused item
• If a Barracks upgrade asks for a Banner, battle rewards are the answer
So if you're trying to get a Victory Banner, don't search for a crafting recipe or merchant. Continue Herbert's military questline until you reach one of the battles that awards it, then take the Banner back to the Barracks and use it to expand your military building area.
