AION 2 How to Sell Old Gear
Replacing gear happens constantly in AION 2, but old weapons and armor do not work like vendor trash in a lot of other MMOs. Whether you can actually sell a piece depends on whether it is tradable, while bound equipment is better handled through Extraction.

How to Sell Old Gear in AION 2
You cannot simply sell every old weapon or armor piece to an NPC vendor in AION 2. If the gear is tradable, you can list it on the Market for another player to buy. If it is bound or otherwise cannot be listed, Extract it instead.

Need Regular Kina: Check whether the item can be sold on the Market first
The important distinction is whether the item can actually be traded. A valuable tradable piece may be worth selling, while an old bound item taking up Cube space is usually better turned into materials.
Sell Tradable Old Gear on the Market
If the old equipment is eligible for trading, the Market is how you sell it to another player for regular Kina.
Open the Market, check whether the item can be listed, compare the existing listings, and put your gear up for sale. Market buying and selling requires Membership on AION 2 Global.

Before extracting old gear: Check whether it is tradable. If another player would actually buy it, selling it on the Market can be more valuable than destroying it for materials.
What to Do With Old Bound Gear
If your old gear cannot be sold, Extract it.
Open your Cube, select the unwanted equipment, and choose the flask-shaped Extraction option. The item is destroyed, but you receive useful materials such as Enhancement Stones instead of simply deleting it.
Extracting an item can also register its appearance in your cosmetic collection when applicable, giving you another reason not to throw old equipment away manually.

Why You Can't Extract Some Old Gear
If an old item is not appearing as available for Extraction, check your other equipment sets before assuming the item is bugged.
A piece can still be assigned to Gear Set 2 or Gear Set 3 even when you are currently using another loadout. Equipment that is still assigned to one of those sets may not be available for Extraction until you remove it there as well.
