Ace Combat 8 Achievements & Trophy Guide
Ace Combat 8 has 56 trophies, and none are missable. Most come from completing the campaign, while the remaining achievements are tied to Ace difficulty, S Ranks, Assault Records, MRP, aircraft purchases, and a few specific actions. Below is every trophy and exactly what you need to do to unlock it.
If you need more MRP for aircraft, weapons, or parts, my Ace Combat 8 best MRP farming guide breaks down the best missions for fast money and long farming sessions.

Ace Difficulty & S-Rank Trophies
The Ace
Complete the campaign on Ace difficulty.
Ace difficulty must first be unlocked by completing the campaign on Elite. See my Ace Combat 8 Ace difficulty guide if you haven't unlocked it yet.
Ace of Aces
Earn an S Rank on all 30 campaign missions on Ace difficulty.
You can clean up missing S Ranks individually through Free Mission, so you don't need all 30 during one continuous campaign run.
If you need better options for specific missions, my Ace Combat 8 best planes guide covers air-to-air, ground attack, carrier, multirole, and endgame aircraft.
A Record of Rivalry
A Record of Rivalry
Obtain all 83 Campaign Assault Records.
Most records come from named enemies encountered normally, but the final 31 are special enemy Aces with their own spawn conditions.
Important:
Special enemy Aces only appear on Veteran difficulty or higher. You also need to finish the mission after destroying the Ace or the Assault Record will not count.
MRP & Aircraft Tree Trophies
Need A Bigger Bank
Earn 16,000,000 total MRP.
MRP Aplenty
Earn 25,000,000 total MRP.
This counts total MRP earned, not how much you're currently holding, so spending MRP does not hurt your progress. Mission 28, A Thousand Points of Light, is a strong option if you eventually need to farm more.
Bolstered Forces
Obtain at least 5 aircraft types.
Fully Kitted Out
Obtain at least 20 aircraft types.
Budding Buyer
Obtain a combined total of 15 Special Weapons and upgrade parts.
Regular Customer
Obtain a combined total of 100 Special Weapons and upgrade parts.
Patron of the Parts
Obtain every aircraft, Special Weapon, and upgrade part in the campaign Aircraft Tree.
Birds of a Feather
Purchase the same aircraft for your wingmen.
After buying an aircraft for yourself, purchase its additional reduced-price copies for your squadron.
Combat Trophies
Aircraft Annihilator
Destroy 3,000 aircraft in campaign mode.
Air-to-Air Ace
Destroy 100 enemies with air-to-air Special Weapons.
Weapons with the blue air-to-air icon count, including 2AAM, 4AAM, 6AAM, LAAM, QAAM, SAAM, SASM, HCAA, HPAA, and HVAA.
Anti-Ground Ace
Destroy 100 enemies with anti-ground Special Weapons.
Weapons with the red air-to-ground icon count, including 4AGM, 6AGM, 8AGM, GPB, LACM, LAGM, LASM, UGB, RKT, SOD, SFFS, and XSDB.
Like the Wind
Successfully perform a Post-Stall Maneuver in campaign mode.
Free Flight does not count. The F-22A, F-35C, MiG-29A, Su-33, Su-47, FA-36, and X-40 are confirmed PSM-capable aircraft.
See my Ace Combat 8 PSM guide for the exact controls.
Wingman Trophies
Yes, Sir!
Have a wingman destroy an enemy after using Cover, Dispersed Attack, and Forward Attack commands.
PS5 Commands
D-Pad Down — Cover
D-Pad Left — Dispersed Attack
D-Pad Up — Forward Attack
All Weapons Free
Authorize Special Weapon use and have a wingman destroy an enemy with one.
On PS5, D-Pad Right authorizes Special Weapons. You can earn this while working on Yes, Sir! by issuing the other three commands, authorizing SP weapons, and allowing a wingman to finish the target.
Meritorious Service
Meritorious Service
Obtain 10 campaign medals.
There are 29 medals total, but you only need 10. Check your progress under Data Viewer → Campaign Data → Campaign Medals.
Several overlap with other trophies, including medals for total enemy kills and S Ranking the campaign.
Easy Overlap:
S Ranking all missions on Ace also satisfies the S-Rank medal requirements for Pilot, Veteran, Elite, and Ace difficulty because the lower medals accept that difficulty or higher.
Miscellaneous Trophies
By the Book
Complete all takeoffs, landings, and aerial-refueling sequences during the campaign.
Don't use the skip prompt when these sequences appear.
Aircraft Inspection
Go to Campaign → Data Viewer → Aircraft Viewer and preview an aircraft.
Birdwatching
Go to Campaign → Data Viewer → Replay Viewer and watch a saved mission replay.
Plane Coordinator
Customize an aircraft skin or emblem in campaign mode.
Aircraft Sets unlock after completing the campaign once.
Change Skin Menu
Mission Menu → Aircraft Sets → Choose Slot → Edit Aircraft Set → Select Skin
Welcome to Boot Camp
Complete any Training mission.
Wings of Theve Platinum Trophy
Wings of Theve
Obtain every other trophy in Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve.
DLC trophies are not required for the Platinum.
